Bling Care

As a jeweler I have seen some grody rings. I will be completely honest, and tell you I am entirely terrified of dirty jewelry. So in an effort to work through my own fears of that mystery crud that gets stuck up under a stone, I am sharing some simple at home care solutions!

The best way I have found to break up - whatever combination of dead skin, hand lotion, and whatever other mystery crud - that ends up attached to your jewelry, is so simple and so satisfying. A simple pinch of Oxyclean, warm water, 15 minutes and a soft bristle toothbrush are all you need!

Grab a bowl from the kitchen, fill it with warm water and a pinch of Oxyclean give it a quick stir and then add your pretties. (**Not** with Opals and Pearls) Let your goods sit for a good 15 minutes, take a soft bristle toothbrush, give a scrub and a rinse. Believe me - it will be like POW! Magic :)

You can always take your pieces to a store to be cleaned professionally, but simply rinsing rings when you wash your hands, and this at home deep clean will keep those gems a sparklin’.
